Samsung is expected to start building a semiconductor plant in Taylor, Texas, by the third quarter of this year.
Back in 2021, the Korean giant revealed that it’s going to build a semiconductor plant, which will cost $17 billion, but somehow that announcement has not come into existence yet.
The brand had announced back then that mass production of chips at this plant would begin by 2024. This was going on for a long time, whether the work on this project would start or not, since the active track for this plan has not yet appeared. But finally, it is appealing that the plans are back on track.
It is speculated by the reports of Williamson County Judge Bill Gravell that the Korean giant’s $17 billion chip plant may begin by July 2024. Gravell revealed this report after his recent meeting with the chief financial officer of Samsung in Seoul.
Gravell stated in the summary of the entire conversation that he understands that the Samsung Taylor plant will start receiving residents in its building facility by this July. However, Samsung has already officially announced its plans to further expand the Taylor plant.
Apart from all this, Gravell has also stated that construction crews have begun pouring foundations for the second plant at the complex, plus it would be the single biggest building in the United States. Previously, the total investment for the Taylor complex plan of Samsung was $17 billion, but now it has risen to $25 billion, providing a significant boost to the local economy.
