WhatsApp has recently introduced the chat filter ability for every user, which brings convenience to maintaining messages. Now, moving forward and opening more ways for communication, the meta has announced two new features that will soon be available to everyone.

According to the official announcement, WhatsApp users will get two new useful features under the community and group sections. Firstly, it has added a new way to reply in community announcement groups; now users can directly reply to important updates or announcements. With this ability, group admins can properly get responses from their members. It is also worth noticing that when group members replay an admin announcement, it will be minimized, so the notification does not disturb other users.
Meanwhile, a second feature is coming in the group section as an event. In this feature, any group member can create any event, such as a virtual meeting or birthday dinner. This will give a new way to discuss a particular topic together. For instance, if you create an event called “birthday planning, other group members will get notifications about the event, which will also be displayed on the group information page. When other users get the notification, they will also reply to the event, and with this ability, all the group members can easily decide whether they are participating in the event or not or share other thoughts.
Availability of new features
It is worth noticing that the event feature for groups will initially be available to those that are created under community, and then it will expand to other groups in the coming months. Apart from the announcement, the company doesn’t share any clear information about the availability of the new “reply to message feature” in announcement groups.
