Initially, Quick Share was only available for Galaxy devices, but with the adoption of Google and the merger with Nearby Shares, it is now available for every Android device. The reason behind the merger is to provide a more seamless sharing platform for all Android devices. Now, to make it even better, there is new QR functionality to enhance its connectivity.
Quick Share to get a new option to establish a connection with the QR code
Currently, when you want to connect any device with Quick Share to share any content, you can only wait for the default finding option, which discovers nearby devices through Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. This process takes a lot of time, especially when two phones are not connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
According to the information shared by the Android Authority, Google is on the way to introduce a new option to quickly establish a connection between two Android devices with the help of QR code scanning.
This functionality may be inspired by other available sharing applications. In this process, the user who shares the content will have to scan the QR code generated on the received device, and once scanned, it establishes the connection.
As far as the availability of the function is concerned, the new functionality is in the pipeline and will be available to users in the upcoming updates. Most probably, Google will introduce these changes with the update to Android 15 and then expand them to other Android versions.
