Samsung has officially acknowledged the issue related to the secure folder. It has said that after applying the latest security policy of One UI 6.1, it has disturbed the functionality of the security folder application and disabled proper execution of the application for deletion.
In other words, when users try to delete any file in the security folder, it doesn’t execute the command. As the problem is addressed with the One UI 6.1 update, it is obvious that the issue is limited to some users using these flagship devices: the Galaxy S23 series, the Galaxy S23 FE, the Galaxy Z Fold 5, the Galaxy Z Flip 5, and the Galaxy Tab S9.
The information indicates that the security folder app-specific version 1.9.10.27 was the source of the issue. It prevents the user from executing the delete function. However, it doesn’t mean that if you roll back the application and get rid of the issue, there is no proof that it gets fixed after that.
As we mentioned earlier, Samsung has already addressed the issues and will provide the fix in the next few days. But there is no exact date mentioned; however, you should keep an eye on the Galaxy Store for the secure folder.
For your awareness, the secure folder offers a dedicated space for storing your data, enhancing security with an additional layer that allows you to set different unlock methods for the folder. User fans can choose any type of lock mechanism for the secure folder, including PIN, password, pattern, or biometric.
