Earlier this week, we covered the availability of a new feature that will provide an extra security layer for payment safety in Google Wallet. In simple words, some users have reported that they are getting a pop-up for verification of their identity before making payments, but now Google has declared it has a bug and will fix it soon.
According to the information, a person from Google has said, “We are aware of an issue that requires a small number of Wallet users to re-enter their PIN to make a payment from their Wear OS device, and we are working to address the issue. There is no new authentication requirement for Wear OS users.” In this statement, you can see that the security feature is just a bug and will be fixed in the coming days, but it doesn’t mention the exact time frame when it will be fixed.
It is expected that Google may fix this issue via an app update for the Google Wallet. So to take advantage early, you are advised to keep an eye on the updated availability on the Galaxy Store. Once it is provided, it will remove the PIN option for those users who have faced the bug. Along with this, the company is also working on syncing app permission between your Android smartphone and Galaxy Watch.
Google wallet offers lots of features for users, such as store payment cards, loyalty cards, digital keys, and many more. Now, to provide security options, the company is delicately working on adding some new features that will be available in the upcoming updates.
