Samsung is offering a golden chance to grab a selected older Tizen-powered Galaxy Watch model, as it is hosting up to $100 in trade-in credit.
Before introducing the Galaxy Watch 4 based on Wear OS, Samsung used to power its Galaxy Watch with its in-house operating system, Tizen. The brand has recently announced that the functionality and facilities of Tizen-based watches will diminish over time, ultimately leading to a complete end of support.
However, the Korean giant is phasing out Tizen smartwatches while also offering a generous trade-in program to settle things down. If you own an old Galaxy Watch, including the Galaxy Watch, Watch 3, Active, or Active 2, then you can get up to $100 for your old watch. The trade-in credit can be applied to the purchase of the Galaxy watches, as mentioned below:
- Galaxy Watch 6 for $299.99 at Samsung
- Galaxy Watch 6 Classic for $429 at Amazon
- Galaxy Watch 5 Pro for $374 at Amazon
The Korean giant has decided to end support for their Tizen smartwatch operating system and also announce the timeline. It will stop selling new paid content, such as watch faces and apps for Tizen watches, in September 2024. Also, we will stop offering any new free downloads of content for Tizen watches starting next year, in May 2025.
If you own a Tizen smartwatch, then this is a golden opportunity for you, since with these boosted trade-in offers, you have an opportunity to upgrade to Samsung’s latest and greatest.
